About us at 'the Connection'
The Cross Country Connection is Ian Goldstone (left), Chris Waller (right) and a team of ski and mountain biking enthusiasts. Together they are The Connection for cross country skiing in Whistler each winter! The idea stems from a need to provide Whistler with a knowledgeable and reliable source for all aspects of cross country skiing.
In the summer our location continues as the hub for those who can't get enough of the trails, trading skis and snowshoes for mountain bikes!
Ian Goldstone
A local Whistler resident for 17 years, Ian was the primary cross country ski instructor at Lost Lake for some seven years. Ian tells us he could ski before he could walk. It sounds legit, and he has knowledge well beyond his CANSI certification. His experience in the local cross country ski scene is second to none and he uses this knowledge to bring a higher level of service to the community, making cross country skiing a priority in the Whistler valley.
Chris Waller
Skiing since the age of ten, Chris brings fresh ideas and a new level of commitment to the cross country scene in Whistler. As a certified Level 4 CANSI instructor (the highest level attainable), Chris understands what a quality skiing experience can be and wants to provide that opportunity to the visitors of Whistler and locals alike. He brings his passion for the sport to his work and looks forward to the challenge of developing the potential of Lost Lake Cross Country.
Most Honourable of Mention
Ian and Chris comprise far from the entire operation. We rely tremendously on our other certified instructors, shop staff, volunteers, friends and family. Without them little of this would be possible.
Finally, there is The Resort Municipality of Whistler. Working with the Municipality has us teamed with a host of dedicated people, all have stepped up to the challenge of developing Lost Lake Cross Country.
